The genesis of Tawfiq Muslim Youth goes back to 1977. Coming back from the Muslim Congress in Njoro, Kenya, in 1977 four brothers from Malindi were inspired to the idea of forming a Muslim Youth Organization in Malindi; a charitable and non-political body to serve the community of Malindi and its suburbs. Major activities to revolve in provision of Health, Education and Welfare.
After several meetings and consultations it was agreed in 1978 to formally register the organization to be called Tawfiq Muslim Youth. The constitution was written and the Registrar of Societies effected registration on 24th May 1979, Government of Kenya.
The present office bearers of Tawfiq Muslim Youth recognise with nostalgia and with deep appreciation the dedication and foresight of the founder members and the support and encouragement from many prominent personalities and some elders in Malindi and in other parts of the Coast.
